MALLARD’S BAR-B-QUE WAS BORN OUT OF A LOVE FOR GREAT TASTING FOOD AND COOKING FOR PEOPLE. IT ALL STARTED WHEN I WAS IN COLLEGE, I DECIDED TO TRY MY HAND AT SMOKING RIBS FOR ME AND MY ROOMMATES FOR THE Kansas City ROYALS’ SEASON OPENER. LITTLE DID I KNOW, THAT WAS JUST THE BEGINNING OF A NEW PASSION FOR MYSELF. OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS, THIS NEWFOUND PASSION DEVELOPED INTO ATLEAST A WEEKLY EVENT OF SMOKING EVERYTHING FROM STEAKS, TO RIBS AND FISH. I EVENTUALLY ATTENDED A SMOKOLOGY CLASS AT THE CULINARY CENTER OF Kansas City, WHERE I LEARNED MANY TECHNIQUES I USE TODAY. I WAS ASKED BY A GOOD FRIEND TO CATER THEIR WEDDING, THIS WAS THE REAL BEGINNING. I STARTED TAKING ON CATERING GIGS, DEVELOPING AND REFINING MY RUBS, SAUCES AND RECIPES UNTIL THEY WERE PERFECTED.

FAST FORWARD TO TODAY — ALOT OF THINGS HAVE CHANGED FROM THE INEXPERIENCED COLLEGE KID I ONCE WAS. I HAVE THE LOVE AND SUPPORT OF MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE TO PURSUE MY DREAMS, AS WELL AS THE MOST PERFECT LITTLE DAUGHTER. I AM PROUD TO CALL MYSELF A PITMASTER WITH OVER A DECADE OF LEARNING AND EXPERIENCE, HONING IN ON MY CRAFT AND PASSION TURNING IT INTO A WAY OF LIVING.
